A host is the volunteer who leads an online meeting of MA. A script is provided, and the job of the host is to copy and paste the sections of the script into the meeting room. The host sets the tone for the meeting, and determines the pace of the meeting, with time for people to respond and share. Preferably, hosts sign up on the meeting schedule so that members can check and plan their time to attend. But in the absence of a scheduled host, anyone with sober time, the ability to access the script and copy/paste, and who has attended meetings to know the flow may step in and host.
A greeter assists the host by greeting late arrivals in private message and letting them know the topics. The greeter lets people know about raising their hands “!” to share, and not interrupting the meeting. The greeter offers to answer questions in private. The greeter also assists the host by using private message if someone interrupts. This helps the host focus on the meeting.

See the online meeting schedule page to choose the meeting day/time you want to host. There’s no requirement for how often you host, but many people find it convenient to pick a day/time of the week regularly. If you find you can’t host on a day you are signed up, just click again on your name and it will automatically be removed.
